2016 “One Word – Bumper”

Bronte 240 Skillion FacadeNathan Dunn and the team at Stroud Homes Gold Coast had an incredibly busy 2016, in which they doubled their capacity from the previous year.

“So, it’s been another terrific year for us”, Nathan says.

We spoke to Nathan at the end of 2016 to find out how the housing market is looking on the Gold Coast, where people are building, and what they’re looking for in a new home.

“People want classic style and simplicity. They’re also wanting to personalise and make specific, family friendly changes to accommodate how they live.”

While Stroud Homes has a wide selection of family friendly home designs, changes can be made where necessary, to make sure you end up with your dream home.

“Our new Bronte design has proven very popular for cramming a lot of features into a mid-size low-set home. Its luxury ensuite bathroom has been a big hit.”

While there have been plenty of families wanting to build their own home, there is still a broad range of people talking to the Stroud team.

“We’ve seen people from every segment, we’re attracting all types really… but more professionals and duel income couples with a larger capacity to get larger homes.”

Over the past year, the most popular areas to build have been Coomera, Pimpama, Gilston, Maudsland, Bonogin and Wongawallen.

Nathan was happy to recount some out of the ordinary builds they’ve performed in the past 12 months, including some very specific custom homes that have kept them on their toes, their first two storey duplex, and some large acreage homes.

“One young couple we developed a New Hamptons inspired Wildflower 300 for – they were wrapped! As well as a very large duel living home for two families.”

In spite of all these requests and client changes, there has been one particularly difficult customer this year.

“We’re building our new Bronte 240 Skillion display home – the client was ourselves, and we’re terrible to build for!”

So keep an eye out for the launch of their new display home in the first half of the new year. But for now, if you’re looking to build in 2017, drop in to see the Gold Coast team at their Pimpama or Coomera display homes.
