2017 Building Trends for Brisbane West

New home built by For the team at Stroud Homes Brisbane West, 2016 was very much a learning year. They took on new staff members, brought in an in-house architect and finished up with some great builds in their schedule.

We spoke to Luke from the Brisbane West team about some of the building trends he noticed in the past year, and what he thinks will be in style for 2017.

Along with an increase in the popularity of two storey homes, which we’ll cover in detail in a later article, he’s noticed a lot more requests for modern style additions to the Stroud Home designs.

He points out that you can see the trends move around, and Brisbane often picks up styles that may have started elsewhere before making it up north.

“The way the market is moving, things that were extremely popular on the Gold Coast 6 months ago, and have been popular in Melbourne for the past 2 years have really hit this area hard.

“People want additions like glass balustrading, practical styles and designs like walk behind showers, freestanding baths with multiple pendant lights and super modern things like that.”

“We can have you sit down with the architect and sketch up on the spot what you’re looking to achieve.

“If you love it, we can have a quote within 24 hours and go from there.”

Of course, Stroud Homes has a long list of standard inclusions that many find just as exciting as their stylish additions.

“Hands down, the 900mm stainless steel Westinghouse gas cooktop and electric oven, that they get a dishwasher and the Caesarstone benches – people absolutely love that,” Luke says.

“People see Stroud as a breath of air as they walk in and know they’re getting everything they see in the display home.

“A lot of other builders refuse to do driveways, refuse to do pools, refuse to do sheds… whereas we are literally a one stop shop, we’ll take care of everything.”
