A Year In Review – Aletha Walters of Stroud Homes Bundaberg
It was a successful year for Stroud Homes Bundaberg, to say the least, with the experienced team walking away with a heap of awards from the HIA and Master Builder Associations and four major awards which were received at the Stroud End of Year conference.

We caught up with owner and sales manager Aletha Walters to talk about the many great achievements throughout the year, and to hear what is in store for 2019.
“Our highlight of 2018 was the amazing team unity that we achieved! These awards are all a testament to our staffs’ hard work and team effort that we make!,” Aletha said.
The team’s effort were recognised at the 2018 HIA Awards where the successful bunch took out the prestigious Display Home of the Year 2018, Project Home of the Year Sunshine Coast/Wide Bay 2018 and Custom Build Home up to $300,000 Wide Bay.
Owner Aletha was also awarded Women In Building Award at the Wide Bay Burnett Master Builder Awards in July for her stand out contribution to the local building and construction industry.
“Goals, Inspiring, Proud.”
“Our biggest hurdle in 2018 was the innovation of our Super 6 Range – it took us some months to put these together but they have been a huge hit in the local area!
These have now been rolled out nationally across the Stroud group,” Aletha explained.

The Stroud Super 6 Range:
The Stroud Super Six are six homes around the 130 to 150 square metre mark that can be built for under $250,000 which makes them ideal for investors and first home buyers.
The Stroud teams can accomplish this by reducing the level of inclusions, shaving off $10,000 to $15,000 off the price, which is a saving they can pass onto their clients.
The inclusions that the team are helping people pare back on include offering laminex tops instead of stone tops, finishing the home with one paint colour, investment tap ware from Reece and vinyl tiles in the main living area.
Besides paring back on inclusions, customers also have six colour boards to choose from with six different bricks and six different colour scenarios. Each of the Super Six homes has at least three bedrooms, ensuite, master bathroom and a classic façade.
“We’ve tried to choose six different designs that are completely different,” Aletha added.

Did you notice any building trends in your region over the year?
“Yes absolutely – we are getting a huge range of interstate people moving to our area looking for a variety of different builds and locations.”
Aletha, together with Slade, is looking after the Wide Bay region. Slade is a second-generation builder with over 23 years’ experience in the building industry and Aletha comes from a business development background in sales and marketing.
Working as a dynamic team, Aletha is handling the initial client contact and queries, design ideas and paperwork, while Slade will take you through the building and construction, estimations and site supervision.

“2019 is going to be a year of consolidation for us! Constantly improving our customer service, processes, procedures and the introduction of our first Bundaberg Display Home,” Aletha said.
“Our goals in 2019 on a personal level are to continually improve upon our management and guidance of staff that are part of our team,” “I will also aim to complete my Masters Degree.”
The Stroud Homes Bundaberg Team
