A Year In Review – Andrew Barraclough of Stroud Homes Cardinia

Looking Forward & Looking Back

Stroud Homes Cardinia owner Andrew Barraclough has many years of experience in the building industry and is passionate about providing a quality home and good building process for his clients.

With a massive year behind him and his growing team, we caught up with Andrew to hear the details of the home building year of 2018, and to see what’s in store for the group in the new year.

New Display Centre

The year was very eventful for the Cardinia builders. The team has continually grown from the previous year, this year with Contract Admin Hamala and Estimator Terrance coming on-board.

Both new team members are extremely motivated individuals who fit in well with the rest of the team, Andrew tells us, and explains how difficult it can be sometimes to find the right employees for the job.

Also, another great event for the company worth celebrating was the grand opening of their new display centre at 4/206 Princes Hwy Pakenham back in May. It was a fun-filled day for the whole community including a free BBQ and free face painting and balloons for the kids.

The display centre allows for customers to learn more about the great Stroud Home range of designs and to have face-to-face conversations about your land, inclusions, build options and much more.

The display centre features the Stroud Selection Studio where you can browse colours, features and finishes for your new home.

Home build increase

A great trend for Stroud Homes Cardinia last year was the increase in home builds. Cardinia has been growing over the last seven years, from an outer Melbourne suburb, to a regional metropolitan hub.

The volume of medium to large corporates is now within no more than 30-minute train ride. “Cardinia still has areas where the first home buyer can get a full $20,000 grant to help purchase their first home,” Andrew says.

“Land sales in the immediate vicinity of Pakenham have recently plateaued, where you can pickup a decent sized block for less than $500,000. There are many land releases still to come in Cardinia, which will see new sub-divisions being released to 2030,”

“Cardinia, can provide a new home builder with a broad range of options, from acreage homes, granny flats, double storey, apartments, pool and of course a helipad if that is what you are wanting.”

The year ahead

The team is looking forward to amp it up in this new year and is fully back into the swing of things after the holiday season. Andrew says the goals for 2019 are to “get two slabs down every month” and to reduce the team’s building time to less than 100 days.

The team is also expanding in the near future with a new sales person coming on shortly, and a new display home currently in the works.

We wish Andrew and the team good luck with their goals for the year and we’re excited to keep up to date with all that goes on at the Stroud Homes Cardinia site.
