A Year In Review – Max Xia of Stroud Homes Casey
“2018 was an exciting year at Stroud Homes Casey,” said Max Xia when we asked him to give us the lowdown of the pas 12 months.
Max, who’s in charge of sales for the Casey franchise, talked to us about the many career goals, as well as personal ones, achieved last year, with the real highlight being the increase in sales and contracts compared to previous years.
“This could only mean 2019 will be a cracker!” he said.
It has been a busy year for the building team in Casey, with team member expansion, new home designs and being nominated for the Victoria Master Builders Annual Awards.
Max also said introducing the Hampton Façade Range and having new franchises opening across Victoria has helped to establish the company as a real contender in the new home building industry.
“We couldn’t have achieved any of our goals and targets without the support and understanding of our clients, trade partners and contractors,” Max said.
“We would like to take this opportunity to say a big ‘Thank You!’ to everyone that supported us this far.”
The challenge to come in the new year, according to Max, is for the team to keep up the same level of service and internal/external communication (as last year). However, the team has put strategies and processes in place to ensure all clients are looked after.
Max explained: “Once we have procedures and processes in place everything runs much smoother and unnecessary mistakes and errors are minimised.”
But he also emphasised the importance for the team to ‘stop and smell the roses’ and enjoy the people and experience along the way. “The key is to enjoy and savour the processes rather than just focus on the end goal,” he added.

“The biggest hurdle so far has been the unstable housing market,” Max said about the tougher moments of the year for the business.
“This has given some of our clients (especially people without equity, and small business owners) grief with getting finances approved towards the second half of the year.”
The team has over the past year assisted some of their clients in sourcing locally based brokers and finance institutions that would still take on those cases, and Max wants to encourage existing and future clients to not hesitate to contact the Casey team for financial advice if needed.
Max concurs with many other franchisees when it comes to naming popular trends of last year. People are opting for knockdowns and rebuilds on a larger scale rather than buying an already existing home, according to Max.
He also said that a majority of people in Victoria prefer to stay in the same suburb when moving house, and with increasing housing prices, a greater number of people are seeing the benefits of re-building their dream homes. This could be part of the explanation for the trend.

Putting an amazing year behind them, the team at Casey is looking forward to recharge and plan out 2019.
By popular demand, the team will be releasing a 39 square double story design in the first quarter of the year, boasting two bathrooms, three ample guest bedrooms, a huge master bedroom, and a large living and formal lounge area. According to Max, the floor plan has proven to be very popular with growing families as well as established families.
Concurrently, the team will be releasing the Hampton Façade Range for double designs.
