Making changes during challenging times

There are uncertain times for everyone around the world with the novel Coronavirus effecting our daily life.

Many people are worried for the future as businesses are having to close and events are being cancelled.

In response, the Stroud Homes Wollongong team is now working hard to be able to service clients as usual, even though in a slightly different way.

We talk to builder Travis Butler about how clients can rest assured their new homes will still be built:

Is it ‘Business as Usual’ for Stroud Home Wollongong?

It is definitely ‘Business as Usual’ here, but with some small changes.

At this point, residential building is considered an ‘essential service’ and we have seen no change in regards to new home enquiry in the office.

This is the case all the way to progress onsite with trades and suppliers. Simply put, people are still buying homes, and tradies are still building homes.

Will there be any changes in your business practices moving forward? Are display homes and display centres/offices still open?

In the office we are limiting face to face meetings as much as possible. These meetings are being replaced by virtual meetings. It has actually been really beneficial to do the meetings this way.

The programs available now allow a lot of great capabilities like screen sharing, so clients can actually watch the plan adjustments take place on their screen.

On job sites, we are only allowing one trade at a time to minimise interactions.

Due to the advanced systems we use at Stroud Homes, this has been a fairly simple task and has allowed scheduling of trades to remain consistent, so as not to slow down job progress.

How are you making sure your employees are safe while still working?

We are adhering to the Governments’ guidelines on social distancing and hygiene practices (extra hand washing etc.) whilst monitoring traffic through the display centre.

Our teams are fully equipped to work from home or remotely if necessary without disruptions to the business.

How are you communicating with clients during social distancing? What technologies are you using?

The program we are using for virtual meetings is called Zoom and we continue to use our favourite app, Voxer.

Voxer is used for clients to see photos, videos and hear audio messages from the site supervisor regarding their home build.

If clients feel worried about their build, who can they contact to ask questions?

As all of our team is on the same page, using the same methods and strategies to combat these uncertain times, anyone in our office is equipped to answer your questions.

We are available on 02 4296 6050 or 0431 176 036. You can also send us an online enquiry  below if the line is busy during these times.

You can also message us on our Facebook page and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
