The boosted $20,000 Queensland First Home Buyer’s grant has been extended to the end of December 2017, and first home buyers are flocking to the new display home in the Riverbreeze Display Village, Griffin to see what their options are.
Jas Isaac from Stroud Homes Brisbane North has noticed she’s seeing a lot of Stroud builds on sloping blocks in her area these days.
“I believe it’s because most builders won’t touch sloping blocks or give very little leniency for clients to amend their home plans,” Jas says, “whereas we will build a client’s home to suit their family, land and budget.
“Quite a few people are seeing our signs attached to sloping blocks, with the Palisades Estate in Upper kedron being a huge hotspot for sloping blocks.
“We currently have 2 builds in Wakefield Street with a third about to start construction, all on the one street.”
New home buyers, particularly first home buyers with a limited budget, often find themselves forced to buy small or sloping blocks if they want property in a good location.
“People often choose the location of their home based on the accessibility of transport and local facilities within the area – trains, bus stations, schools, jobs, sports and recreation – we’re finding this is quite common in families, first home buyers and investors.”
In fact, Stroud Homes Brisbane North will be opening a second display home in the Newport Stocklands Display Village at the start of August.
But no matter where you’re building, it’s important to know all your options before signing.
“This is one of the biggest investments of your life, do research on your builders and compare apples to apples,” Jas recommends.
