Building A Flexible Lifestyle Out Of Wagga
“We’re getting a lot of enquiry with people building out of town, that 1 to 2 hour drive just out of Wagga,” Toby says.
“Heaps of people getting those lifestyle blocks, 2 acres to 5 acres, not farms but those big blocks.”
This is thanks to quite cheap land prices, allowing anyone willing to make the drive to have a pretty decent plot of land.
“They’re building in Coolamon within 25 minutes from Wagga, spending $150,000 and getting 5 acres of land.”
“If you were to do that 25 minutes back into Wagga, you’re looking at $300,000, and that’s for less, probably only a few thousand square metres.”
As a result, the Stroud team are finding themselves building a lot of acreage homes.
“We’re having a massive hit with the Montego design – they’re still a massive hit.
“I think people like our flexibility with those acreage designs, if you’re building on acres you’ve got plenty of room for modifications.”
It’s that flexibility of design that really makes Stroud stand out from the pack in Wagga Wagga.
“Not only are we flexible, but our designs are flexible, so they’re very easy to modify and I would say people really love that about us as they like to change a lot of things when they have the space.”
While people love making changes, it’s not that Stroud designs are lacking in any way, rather they want to include the great elements of other Stroud designs in their home.
This includes increasing the size of the garage and other changes to suit the block and your lifestyle.
“One of the big ones which comes up all the time is putting the Wildflower 256 ensuite into the master bedroom of another plan.”
The quality of the inclusions is not an issue though.
“We don’t have a lot of people upgrading our inclusions, because they are already quite high, most modifications are just little tweaks to the plan, not actual extras.”
