Can I Change It Up?
When building your dream home, some changes may need to be made to the original Stroud Homes design. The crew from Stroud Homes Melbourne North understand that making changes may be a necessary process and they’ll support you to ensure that you wind up with the right design.
We talk to the team at Melbourne North to find answers to frequently asked questions on ‘Making Changes.’
Absolutely, Stroud Homes Melbourne North can offer to tailor make our existing home designs to suit your individual needs.
The best person to talk to is your sales consultant to confirm the changes required and how they can be done. This will then be requested through the draftspeople when your preliminary drawings are being completed. When finalised the drawings will be reviewed for your approval. Easy as that!
When requesting changes we will always review and finalise the requests as they are being submitted. The most common issue that can come up is window size and placement. We have to ensure that the design is compliant and has enough natural light and ventilation for you to enjoy it!
If you are uncertain if a change can be made, just ask! We can always suggest suitable alternatives if required.
After you have accepted the preliminary agreement allowing site-specific testing and home drawings to be completed, generally they can be received back within 7 – 14 days from being requested. The process is straightforward and streamlined to avoid unnecessary delays.
Changes will always be looked at on a case by case basis. Depending on the size of the alterations generally, a fee is applicable for the customisation process and the home is quoted according to the requests of the client.
Remember some alterations can make a home design grow considerably along with the original cost. If you are not certain, our sales professional can break down and estimate for your peace of mind.
Resale should always be in the back of your mind when making changes. You should try to avoid making the home so custom to your needs that a potential buyer may need to alter the home features.
Not decreasing in bedroom or living area sizes allow the spaces to remain functional and well designed to suit most.
Customising kitchen cabinetry is altered as everybody is already used to the way they utilise their existing kitchens in regards to their personal likes and dislikes.
Customising pot drawers and in what location they like drawers and the depths is most popular.
Our clients do make changes to their media rooms in order to accommodate cinema recliners and projectors. This is done by shuffling around the available power points making the room comfortable for the whole family to enjoy a movie.
Recently we completed the first stages of our lovely clients’ modified split-level Bronte 225 design. We are looking forward to seeing this construction change and grow with the different stages.
