Community Care in Coffs Harbour
Joining forces, Stroud Homes Coffs Harbour and Stroud Homes Tamworth have come together to help farmers who are doing it tough in drought-stricken areas.
They have asked their local communities and businesses to come together to donate stock feed and non-perishable goods to their office address at 4a Moonee Street Coffs Harbour.
With many farmers in the Coffs Harbour region doing it tough, the hope is that by arranging these goods they can help get people through the day-to-day.
With a hope that rain will come soon, the Coffs Harbour team share with us why it is so important to support their community.
With 100% of New South Wales in drought, we thought as a business we should do something to help out the farmers who are doing it really tough. So, we teamed up with Stroud Homes Tamworth to get the help of individuals and other small businesses around the Coffs Coast to donate stock feed and other non-perishable items and drop them into our office.
We will then take out the goods to our neighbours who are struggling in the New England/North West regions.
We just wanted to be able to lend a hand and give back to the people who are struggling. Being a small business in town, it’s really important to support others as much as we possibly can – it’s a great feeling to help out and do our part in the community!
We got in contact with R U Aware We Care which is a joint initiative of a local radio station in Tamworth 88.9FM and the Tamworth Regional Council.
All donations will assist farming families in the New England/North West region the donations are distributed via the local CWA, Salvation Army, NSW Farmers Association and the Tamworth Business Chamber.
Everyone has been very excited and supportive of this initiative, which is amazing! We’ve had a lot of engagement on our social platforms as well which has really shown how much people care about the farmers experiencing the drought.
It’s also been great to have a chat and catch up with the small businesses when they’ve called in to our Display Centre to drop off donations.
If you live in the area, the team would love to see what you can help bring to this cause.
“We just hope to be able to help others out through this hard time and do our bit to relieve some pressure off them until it rains!!”
