Award Winning Display Home

In September the team from Stroud Homes Port Macquarie donned their best to attend the Northern NSW HIA-Laminex Housing Awards.

The team walked away with the one of the biggest awards of the night, the Overall Display Home of the Year Award for their beautiful new Wildflower 274 Display Home located at Sovereign Hills Display Village.

The Wildflower 274 was also awarded Winner of Bathroom Design of the Year (Ensuite) and Winner of Display Home Price Category $400,001 – $500,000 and finalist for Home of the Year.

Can you tell me about the HIA Award Night the team from Stroud Homes Port Macquarie attended?

The team at Stroud Homes Port Macquarie were all able to attend the HIA – Laminex Housing awards for Northern NSW which was held at Opal Cover Resort in Coffs Harbour.

HIA presents various Awards in recognition of the premium work being undertaken by HIA members in the residential building industry.

This is the first time that we had entered the Awards and we were fortunate enough to be accompanied by James Stroud at our table who had made a special trip to be there. Also, in attendance were some other neighbouring Stroud Homes teams from Coffs Harbour and Tamworth.

It was nice to have the other local teams come together to celebrate the achievements of the night and to commemorate on the continued support and bond that has been formed over the past two years.

Stroud Homes Port Macquarie took out three wins, what makes your team and the homes you build so successful?

At Stroud Homes, we focus on quality builds, excellent workmanship, perfect systems and we’re also passionate about the entire process from start to finish.

Stroud Homes’ emphasis is on implementing new innovations and finding smarter ways to build as well as stressing the importance of builder/client transparency.

We also have great trades, suppliers and support from other Stroud builders, which all impacts on the success of the overall build.

Why do you think the Wildflower 274 Display Home appeals to judges and the public alike?

The Wildflower 274 Skillion is designed for today’s living and it is perfect for new housing estates. The Skillion Façade makes it modern, yet transparent.

The floor plan design inside the home receives daily positive feedback. It is a well sized home that flows, ticking all the boxes right from child’s retreat, walk in pantry, study nook and media room!

The Master bedroom at the back of the home is a delightful surprise and is often referred to as a hidden gem. This design has all the features to make it feel like home.

The Wildflower 274 took out the win for the Overall Display Home of the Year award. The home was up against a number of homes that cost more, can you tell me how this win makes you feel?

We are very proud to have received Display Home of The Year award, it’s an enormous achievement.

We’re really just humbled to be recognised for building such an affordable home to a high standard with many great features to make it unique.

The Display Home’s ensuite won Bathroom Design of the Year, can you tell me about this winning design?

Yes! This particular ensuite design in our Display Home was inspired by the ensuite design in the Bronte Range.

At first, you are greeted by a spacious wall mounted double vanity, to the right, a free-standing bath stands elegantly next to the frosted shutters with views out to the herb garden.

Behind the Double vanity wall, you are surprised with a “walkthrough” shower with double showerheads. There’s no glass, allowing for easy cleaning. In addition to this, the toilet is tucked away separately.

The Floor to ceiling tiles draw the whole design in nicely. The space in this ensuite is pure bliss and there’s not an inch of wasted space, giving you the best value for money.

Why is it so important to Stroud Homes Port Macquarie to enter and win these awards?

Stroud Homes Port Macquarie are determined to be involved with the HIA Housing Awards to continue to showcase the amazing homes that we build.

The awards are a pleasant reminder of the quality of workmanship that’s been achieved and the spectacular designs that Stroud Homes has to offer. We’re excited to enter some of the client project homes in next time.

Where will your new awards go?

Our awards are displayed in both the Display Office in town and at the Display Home. It is nice to showcase these to everyone.
