Gas or Induction Cooking – Factors to Consider

One of the most common questions we get asked in relation to the kitchen, is what kind of cooktop we include as standard and what is better between gas and induction.

Gas is definitely a tried and tested product, is cost effective and comes standard in all Stroud Homes inclusion levels, we can install an induction cooktop, but a few things have to be considered before you decide if this option is best for you.

The Jimboomba Times recently published what some of Australia’s top chefs had to say on the matter, while they mostly agreed an induction cooktop would be their first choice, they did also make some important comments on what to check for before you decide:

  • Some pots and pans are not recommended for induction.
  • A much higher wattage power outlet is need for induction.
  • Costs involved to install an induction cooktop are higher.
