Ideal if you are looking for a lovely big allotment with room to move and to watch Aeroplanes take off and land, helicopters come and go and Parachutists float in. Don't have a plane? Goolwa Airport is located 4.5 km from the Surf Beaches at Middleton, 6.5km from the cafe's and hotels of either Middleton township or Goolwa townships and 78 km south of Adelaide, (34 nautical miles by air). Established in 1975 on 73.6 hectares (182 acres) of freehold land, and it is now a respected destination and refuelling stop for general aviation pilots.

If you do have a plane this is the ideal location to be! The airport boasts a 24 hour, all bitumen runway that is suitable for light and medium size piston or jet aircraft.

The runway and taxi lights are pilot activated there are three main runways,
01/19 - sealed for 1350m, 90m wide with PAL system.
16/34 is a 1000m grass runway, 90m wide.
09/27 is a 650m grass runway at 90m wide.

There is a large paved apron area in front of the Office/Terminal, and the refuelling facility has AVGAS, Jet A1 and 98 octane MOGAS on bowsers. The modern brick terminal facility has a reception area with lounge, briefing rooms, several offices, toilets and kitchen. Other facilities include 50 hangars with a total capacity for over 100 aircraft.
