“I love all things houses, but wanting to help people build a life and create a home for families is the real reason that I wanted to work for Stroud Homes and the wonderful Wagga team.”
We get to know more about Mariah..
With being born in Wagga and moving away to the coast when I was young, to then move back to my home town of Junee in 2010, has been one of the best decisions in my life.
I live with and care for my mum who has multiple sclerosis (MS). Family is everything to me, which is why I truly love my job of finding people the perfect family home and working with their needs.
While I was undertaking my final years of school, I was also completing a school based traineeship with a local real estate where I learnt many different roles within the real estate industry.
This is where my love for homes flourished and providing great customer service.
I will be graduating in 2020 from Charles Sturt University after completing a Bachelor of Business Management (Human Resource Management) in which I have gained some great skills to transfer to my current role.
I have been working with the Stroud Homes family since May 2018 and love being part of the Stroud team.
After my first interview with our Director, John Heffernan, I knew that this would be a place that I could grow and flourish due to John’s ongoing support and guidance.
It’s truly rewarding working for someone that is honest, transparent and values his team members like they are family, which is then continued on to the families that we build for.
When choosing a builder, there isn’t just one important component to consider.
You need to be confident that the builder is honest, encourages you to ask as many questions as possible, values quality and communicates with you on a regular basis.
Too often price is a big factor when home owners choose a builder. This is unfortunate because if the builder is not honest, does not value integrity, hides costs and keeps you in the dark about where your build is up to, then it will not be an enjoyable experience.
Components to have a look at when choosing a builder:
The Bronte 227 would be by far my favourite residential styled home. The walk through from the garage truly makes putting away the groceries a breeze direct from the car, and the walk in shower in the ensuite, which means no glass to clean, also creates an elegant and luxurious feel.
The open feel that the home has also allows you to feel connected throughout the home. Not to mention the use of a child’s retreat surrounding the kids bedrooms, making school mornings just that little bit easier!
And my favourite acreage styled home is the Inverell 280 or the Inverell 280 + granny flat. The Inverell just checks so many boxes for me, then by adding in a granny flat can create so many more options for families.
I enjoy spending time working on my home, going to the gym and spending time with my family, friends and dog Loui.
I love to dress up and host costume parties to raise money for MS. For example, this year I hosted an event with my mum and raised $4,822.
I am thankful to have the support from John and Tammy in helping to pursue this goal of mine.
