The Importance of Good Storage
“Storage is really important to a lot of our clients,” says Jace Keirnan from Stroud Homes Brisbane North.
Storage goes hand in hand with the overall functionality of any home and for some of Jace’s clients, this is one of the big deciding factors when it comes to choosing their home design. Especially for those with growing and larger families!
When you choose to build with Stroud Homes Brisbane North you are presented with a wealth of storage options. The majority of Stroud plans are designed to include built in robes in all bedrooms and a walk-in robe for the master suite.
These wardrobes come standard with a top shelf for storage and a hanging rail. Clients can choose to upgrade their robe storage to include more shelving, multi-height hanging, draws and shoe racks.
“The whole master suite has become a really important feature of the home for our customers, the walk-in robe is definitely a feature that is no longer just for luxury homes, it is a ‘must have’ for most residential home owners today,” Jace explains.
One Master Suite wardrobe design which has proven very popular with Jace’s clients can be found in the Bronte 225 and Bronte 240. This design includes a His and Her Walk in Robe giving the owner phenomenal storage potential.
The Kitchen is another room where ample storage is important. “All of our standard house designs have a set of drawings detailing the standard kitchen plan, with soft close cutlery draws, overhead cupboards and pantry or walk-in pantry,” says Jace.
Each Stroud Homes kitchen has been designed to have loads of storage and a functional layout, but as each client is different they are given the option to swap in drawers for cupboards and vice versa.
Jace says, “This is something we can adjust in the plans and quote from as early as your first meeting with your sales consultant.”
The most popular Stroud Homes designs include either a walk-in pantry or for larger homes, they come complete with a butler’s pantry. “This is a feature that our clients are very much drawn to and is on almost every new client wish list.”
Mud Rooms and Drop Zones have been used by families in the United Kingdom and the United States of America for a very long time. Now, we are seeing their emergence in Australian home design.
“We are finding that some of our clients are starting to consider the way their family enter into the home, in particular from the garage and considering new options like positioning the laundry to give it a dual purpose as not only a laundry but also as a drop zone or mudroom.”
“Spend the time to consider your storage requirements early in the planning stage and remember to bring along your wish list and have a chat with us about your storage requirements at your new home consultation.”
