They’ll Be Home For Christmas…
With their clients facing months living in a caravan park due to delays in council approvals, Matt and Nicky from Northern Rivers Stroud Homes were determined to get Roger and Rosemary Oldham into their home before the end of the year.
Matt and Nicky were able to use their experience in dealing with local councils to push the approvals through much quicker than usual, so they could get started on building sooner.
They were really excited when they managed to get the build completed to Stroud’s consistent high standard, well ahead of the contract time, and hand the keys over by December 18 just in time for Christmas.
Roger recounts “we got in here on the 19th and couldn’t get our furniture delivered until the following Monday which actually was prior to Christmas, we got all our furniture down on the 21st, it was a last minute rush.”
Having just moved in it was a rather quiet Christmas for Roger and Rosemary, but they were glad they missed out on the nightmare of staying in the caravan park over Christmas.
“It was getting really hot the last month so the caravan park was pretty insufferable, then of course everybody moves in over Christmas so it would have been an absolute nightmare,” Roger says.
They were able to enjoy a quiet Christmas in a naturally cool home, well away from the hustle and bustle of holiday makers.
“We had a Christmas tree up but we didn’t have anything on it to be honest, it was one of those ones with the fibre optics on it, we just had the Christmas tree and that was for when our grandson came over.”
Initially, Roger and Rosemary were looking for a pre-fabricated, ready built home, but they found a property they loved and got in contact with the Stroud team through their real estate agent.
Even though they pretty much “fell into” building a new home, they found Nicky and Matt very easy to work with.
“Nicky helped us every time we dealt with her and it was really good… once all the approvals came through Matt and all the boys pulled out all the stops to get it finished by Christmas.”
The now complete home, built in the Como 210 design with the classic façade, has a large dining and alfresco area, double garage, media room, four bedrooms and two bathrooms.
It comes with Stroud Homes’ high quality standard inclusions, comprehensive building guarantees, and of course, the dedicated customer service for which Stroud Homes Northern Rivers have become known.
“Stroud were a great company to do business with, their site supervisor who looked after all the building and construction was absolutely excellent, he was always willing to answer questions and happy to help us out with any issues we had.”
