Welcome to Spring – are you Insulated for Summer?

Now that we have got through another winter it might be a good time to reflect about how to keep warm in winter and plan how to keep cool in summer simply by insulating your home.

Insulation

Insulation acts as a barrier to heat loss and heat gain, particularly in ceilings, roof and walls. It is the easiest, most practical and cost-effective way to make a house more energy efficient.

According to the governments Your Energy Savings website, half of the energy we use to heat or cool our homes can simply leak out without insulation – What a waste!

  • Roof: If your roof isn’t insulated, you could lose up to 45 per cent of your heating or cooling via the roof.
  • Ceiling: If your ceiling isn’t insulated, you could lose up to 45 per cent of your heating or cooling via the roof.
  • Walls: Wall insulation can save up to an additional 20 per cent of heating and cooling energy. Consider added wall insulation as an essential in all climates.
