What’s Happening in Northern Rivers?
With just a few short months until Christmas, Stroud Homes Northern Rivers is now preparing for what’s to come in 2020.
The team is concentrating on getting people ready to build in the new year and is currently moving through the early stage process of paperwork (colour selections, plans finalised, contracts and council documents etc).
This is so clients can sit back over the holidays and know most of the decisions are made, and once approved in the New Year, the magic can begin!
The busy builder also has a few handovers to get through before the holiday season and is working hard to ensure the tight schedules are on track.
“For the builds just starting we aim to get to a certain stage of production before the shut down period and ensure the sites are tidy and secure,” says Nicky Lowson from Stroud Homes Northern Rivers.
“It is a really busy time and everyone puts their heads down knowing that in about a month the industry shutdown means a few weeks off to re-boot and come back in 2020 ready for action as we have a lot of homes to build!
According to Nicky, a lot of families are doing the ‘tree or sea change’ right now, meaning they are moving away from the hussle and bustle of cities like Sydney or Melbourne as the value of the lifestyle Northern Rivers has to offer is huge.
And it’s easy to see why. The booming area is offering both seaside and hinterland surrounds, as well as suburbs full of great communities and diverse cultures.
“Move here and you’ll find yourself in some of the most natural pristine beach or country side you will ever find,” says Nicky.
“Outdoor activities are a big part of life here and life in general can be a little more relaxed and slower than in the bigger cities,”
“I think people move here looking for a better balance in life and simply more time doing the things they enjoy, with the people they love.”
According to Nicky, investors have also picked up on the soaring popularity of the area and are getting great return on rentals.
So, by the looks of it, Stroud Homes Norther Rivers is going to be busier than ever in 2020 as all the newcomers will need new homes.
But for now, Nicky tells us, Lennox Head is the area keeping the home builder busy, with the Epiq Estate being a really popular option, making up for 75% of the current builds.
Inland you have suburbs like Goonellebah as well with smaller 20 lot estates popping up all of the time.
Next week, Stroud Homes is joining the launch of Eastwood Estate and House & Land packages will start under $500k, which is a great price in Northern Rivers, according to Nicky.

“We are tending to see customers that are investing or growing families upgrading,” explains Nicky.
“We also get the odd downsizer too, couples wanting a smaller home in a great location with all the new modern features and benefits a new home brings.”
These clients are downsizing on size, not on value and comfort, so a new home can be a great choice for those retirees that are far from ready for the retirement home situation.
The interest rates are making it attractive too of course, with affordability to get into the market for most budgets with our continued record low borrowing rates.
“We are lucky to have a diverse range of plans and custom designs to suit all situations and land types,” says Nicky.
“This week we have a beautiful big acreage design started, a split level design near the beach at Lennox, and we just handed over a Luxury two storey custom beachfront home at Kingscliff.”
And if that’s not enough, the team also has handovers at Beechmont, a split level custom home at Ballina, a Duplex at Wollongbar and a Wildflower custom at Lennox.
“We are very flexible and versatile with an experienced team, so our customers can work closely with us to achieve their dream home.”
